4th of July!!

This year for the 4th of July I had wanted to do a big family bbq but we had so much going on with Ian's birthday and getting ready to leave for vacation it just didn't work out.  That morning we went to the Ward pancake breakfast at a local park.  Noah lucked out and got out of having to go to the city's parade.  We at pancakes instead.  We did still  end up having most of Noah's family over for dinner that afternoon.  Everyone just brought their own food and we provided drinks and dessert.  It worked out perfect.  We got to hang out and the cousins played and then we all headed over to the local fireworks show here in McKinney.  There was a ton of traffic but we ended up getting a really good place to park and sit.  The weather was perfect too.  It was unseasonably cool that night.  Ian and Sadie loved the fireworks of course.  They didn't however love the really long wait to get out of the parking lot.  It was a wonderful day to celebrate all of the freedoms that we enjoy in this country.

This is our annual 4th of July dessert.  It started in my family and I really love this cake so we keep making it.  This year I made it in the right kind of pan so it turned out much prettier than last years cake.

Waiting for some fireworks.

We were sitting at the top of a baby hill and Ian and Sadie just kept running up and down it.

Ian got in trouble for running into the parking lot and not staying on the grass though.

Sadie took this picture of us.

They love those fireworks!
