Jetty Island

While in Washington we went to one of my favorite places, Jetty Island.  It is a couple mile long island of just sandy beaches.  You can find out more about it here.  We just LOVE it there.  We got up really early one morning in hopes that we could get in line to catch the first ferry.  It is a very short ferry ride to the island.  It is about 3 minutes long.  We got there in plenty of time to get on the first ferry.  The weather was perfect, although it was a little chilly on the water in the morning, it warmed right up.  Sadie and Ian just loved it.  They played in the water, touched big crabs, made sand castles and just had fun.  I would highly recommend to anyone that they take a visit to Jetty Island.  There are a lot of pictures in this post but it is hard to narrow them down so I posted most of them.  Enjoy!

Ian just ran up and down this ramp while we waited for the ferry.

Ian and Uncle Jason taking a little stroll.  I think they saw a seal while they were out looking around.

Finally at the beach!

Look at all of that sand!  It is soft and goes on for miles.

Stuart found this crab while out wandering in the water.

Jason decided to see how far he could sink into the sand.  He got a little stuck.

Ian walked around with this stick poking it in the ground for quite some time.

After playing and playing and playing, it was time for lunch.

The boys.  Don't they all look so happy to be taking this picture.

Jason wanted a picture of Ian and him in their shark shirts.

After lunch we rode the ferry back and drove home.  The kids fell asleep pretty fast.  I think we wore them out.
