4th of July

This was the first 4th of July that we have spent together in Texas.  Usually we are on vacation visiting my family in Washington and last year we were having a baby.  Sadie and I decided to go to the McKinney parade in the morning.  Noah hates parades so he stayed home with Ian.  The parade was ok.  It was kind of short and there was no candy but Sadie loved it.  Well except the loud motorcycles.  They were really loud.  We spent the afternoon hanging out as a family.  It was fun.  I made a cake that was a disaster but at least it tasted good.  We had hotdogs and chips, and salad and deviled eggs for dinner.  It was yummy.  Later that evening we headed out for the McKinney "Red, White and Boom!"  I love watching fireworks and so does Sadie.  She couldn't wait for it to get dark so that we could go.  I was worried about Ian being up late but he did great.  He didn't seem to care about the fireworks that much but that is ok.  Overall it was a great day!

This is a cake that my family has every year for the 4th.  It stuck in the pan and was a disaster.  It tasted great though.

Sadie and Noah ready for some fireworks.

Ian still wondering why he is up so late.

After a few minutes he warmed up to the idea of being awake.

What a cute bunch.
