This week we didn't get much learning in. It was the 4th of July! There was a ward breakfast scheduled for that morning but I didn't know if it would happen. It had been raining a lot and was still raining that morning but we went anyways. There was some really gusty wind but eventually the storm passed over and we had a great morning! Someone in the ward made a bunch of Dutch oven breakfast. It was really good. After that the kids had a little bike parade around the playground. That was cute. I think the highlight of the morning was the giant slip n slide. Our ward has done this for several years now and it is so much fun for the kids and some adults. Sadie went down once or twice and decided she didn't like getting grass all over her. Ian on the other hand LOVED it! I had to drag him away from it. After that we headed home for some more fun. We had our neighbors over to play in the little pool in the backyard. That was fun. After that some of Noah's family made it over for a little BBQ. No one stayed this year for the fireworks but that was fine. We still had a lot of fun. I then finished the night off with our traditional chocolate cake that my Grandma made every year. It was a great 4th!
Little parade
Time for the slip n slide!
Backyard pool time!!
They were very ready for the fireworks to begin
This is a horrible picture but it shows that Ian did a lot of running around before the fireworks. He was all hot and sweaty.
Nothing is better than chocolate cake before bed.
