I love going to the State Fair and this year was no exception. Plus this year my sister Missy was in town and was able to go with us. It was so much fun and the weather was perfect. It did start to feel a little hot out as we were leaving but that was ok. We of course did all of the same things we do every year but we love it still. Ian was a little more into it this year but Sadie of course had been talking about going all year. She loves it too. So here are a ton of pictures from our day.
At the entrance we went in, they had a little area with hammocks. Sadie wanted to sit in one with Aunt Missy.
Our first stop was the Children's Barnyard. I think that is Sadie's favorite part. Here she is feeding the giraffe.
Ian with the giraffe.
Noah of course wanted in on the action too.
Just a little goat feeding. As you will notice, Sadie always chose the purple shovel to feed the animals with.
Ian was not too sure of the animals. He wanted to be held most of the time in the barnyard. I think he was a little scared of the animals.
Feeding some deer.
This is what would happen if you tried to put Ian down. He would hold onto your leg for dear life and wanted to be picked right back up.
Near the end Ian started to get a little braver and tried to pet the animals.
Aunt Missy, Sadie and Ian.
The family.
Ian sitting by the big pig Boris.
After the barnyard we headed over to look at the horses. Sadie found a saddle she wanted to sit on.
Ian of course wanted to sit on one too.
Next we went to "Little Hands on the Farm." The kids get to pretend to be farmers and milk cows, feed chickens, plant vegetables and other things. Sadie loves it. Ian wasn't too sure about it but he liked that he got to just walk around.
Getting an apron.
Picking some peaches.
Feeding the chickens and collecting the eggs.
Planting vegetables.
Riding the tractor to feed the animals.
At the end they take everything to the market and then they get "paid" for their hard work and get to pick a treat out of the store.
After wandering through the Food and Fiber Pavillion and the Craft building we ate our lunch. It is our favorite lunch with a Fletcher's Corndog. Yum!!
Then I had my favorite! Fried Cookie Dough!! It doesn't get much better than that.
We always stop at the fountains on the way to the Carousel.
Last Sadie went for a ride on the Carousel. She just loves it. Then we headed home and I think that Sadie and Ian fell asleep before we left the parking lot. They were tired but we had a wonderful day!
