Jetty Island
One of the days while I was in Washington, us girls decided to go to a place called Jetty Island in Everett. We had never been there before but it sounded like a fun place to go. You take a little ferry across the water to a 2 mile long island that is all sandy beach on the water. We left early in the morning and only got a little lost getting there. Unfortunately we didn't realize that it was a first come, first serve basis for getting tickets on the fairy. Luckily we didn't have to wait long and made it on the 10:30am ferry. The ride was literally 2 minutes long. We didn't know that the island was so close to the dock. The weather was gorgeous and we had a wonderful day. Sadie loved it. We all wondered why we hadn't been coming here all of our life. We stayed until about 2pm and then headed home. It was wonderful. We will definately be going there again.
Sadie waiting at the dock to catch the ferry. Jetty island is that island right behind her. I told you it was a short ferry ride.
Me and Sadie waiting to board the ferry. She was more than ready to get on the boat.
We of course had to sit on the top level of the little ferry. Sadie loved that short ride. She talked about it for days.
After walking across the island to the beach, this is what we saw. It was 2 miles of just sand as far as you could see. There were a lot of people there but you would never have know because there was so much beach to play in. You were always by yourself. It was not crowded at all.
After the long walk down to the water it took Sadie some convincing to get in it. We had to carry her the long walk down because she didn't want to step on the green seaweed. Plus you sunk in the sand alot due to all of the clam holes.
Finally Sadie sat in the water. She is about to unload that handful of sand onto Whitney's lap.

At lunch time we took the walk back up the beach to have lunch. Sadie of course had to be carried again.

Sadie's sunglasses broke as we were leaving for the beach. These were the ones she chose to wear instead. Silly girl!
After lunch we headed back out and decided to make a sand castle. Sadie loved it. She just kept piling it on.

Missy and Whitney wrote Sadie's name in the sand. She wanted to have her picture taken with it.
Sadie covering her legs with sand. While we were playing Sadie of course had to go potty. The bathrooms were all the way on the other side of the island. We tried everything to get her to go in the water or in a puddle or something. She just kept telling us that you only go potty on the potty. It was funny seeing Whitney showing Sadie how to pee in the water. What a sight. We ended up having to take her to the bathrooms but it was fun to sit and play in the sand while we waited for her to come back.
