4th of July

As always at this time of year we are on vacation visiting my family in Washington. I figured I should keep up with the pictures on the blog a little at a time instead of trying to play catch-up when I get home. So here it goes. Since the 4th of July was on Sunday this year we had a two day holiday celebration. On Saturday we had our annual Barrett family BBQ at my parent's home. All the family came over and we had a wonderful time. We had hamburgers and hotdogs and all kinds of good salads and treats.

Sadie loved decorating the red, white, and blue cookies for the party.

The finished product!

If you can't tell Sadie likes frosting just a little. She licked the bowls and knives clean.
Sunday was the second installment of the festivities. We went to church in the morning and had a really good bbq dinner that night. You can never bbq too much. We had chicken, asparagus, salad, jello, and of course s'mores for dessert. It was really good. Later that night we went to watch the fireworks that my parent's city puts on. They were great. We then came home and attempted to watch the move Independance Day, which is a family tradition, but as usual we all fell asleep about 20 minutes into it. It was still a wonderful day.

Now my mom joined the group picture.
